...generates microstructures in a parallel process. Therefore the structures can be produced on large areas. Structure features between 100nm to 100µm can be generated. Holotools manufactures structures uniformly on formats of up to 960mm x 720mm.

Laser radiation from a UV Laser is split, expanded and superimposed to form an interference pattern. This pattern is recorded into a photosensitive material. Exposed parts are etched away during development and a surface-relief profile emerges. The process neither needs a mask nor is it a scanning process.

Replications of the original master are made by electroforming into nickel. These can be used as embossing tools for precision micro replication processes, such as injection moulding, hot embossing or continuous film replication.
